In February 2017 in Tokyo, GPD and GTL are supporting 2 events which will bridge the Boston and Tokyo AI and analytics community.

On February 4th, Saturday, GTL will host the 5th Global Teamwork Symposium at the U Tokyo Hongo campus.  Starting in the morning with hands on workshops from leading US and Japan A.I. innovators, the afternoon will including panels and speakers in response to 2 key questions:  how must enterprises transform to be ready for performance in a data rich world?  How must universities prepare the next generation of students and research?

On February 7th and 8th, a major industrial conference called "Big Data Analytics Tokyo" will be held at Roppongi Academy Hills. GPD's Dr. Moser will speak on the latest research strategies for business performance through teamwork analytics enabled by instrumented project design workshops.

On November 4th, as part of the Keio University SDM (System Design and Management) program,  Dr. Moser delivered a lecture and facilitated several business games using the Project Design and the TeamPort platform. A diverse group of students from around the world gained their first exposure to model-based systems thinking for projects.

The fourth GTL symposium leveraged GPD's TeamPort platform as part of a new research strategy on the instrumentation of teams and their problems across boundaries. Six teams collaborated and competed in a teamwork experiment, for the design and optimization of  the complex system engineering.  After the competition, the experience, path, and results of each team we analyzed and participants learned about Project Design deeply.

University of Tokyo GTL with MIT will hold an open symposium, inviting industry in Japan to review recent initiatives at MIT and U Tokyo to increase industry engagement during research.

The event will be on March 11, 2016 at the Future Center in Kashiwa-no-ha, just next to the Kashiwanoha Campus Station on the Tsukuba Express Line. For more information check out the GTL site:

International Society of Logistics (SOLE) Japan:  Workshop on Project Design, Tokyo, by Mr. Dai Ike, CEO for GPD Japan presents a 3 hour workshop on December 15th regarding projects as socio-technical systems and project design methods.

Global Teamwork Lab symposium series continues with an industry focused event. Designing, Engineering, and Production of competitive products requires global teams, common platforms yet flexible local standards and practices. Our project management standards and experiences from the 20th century are not sufficient. New research and methods on the integration of system engineering, system architecture, and project management methods will be introduced and open for discussion during this symposium.

How do leading performers from a wide range of countries exert teamwork and innovate?  The Global Teamwork Lab at U Tokyo is launching a new symposium series on June 21, 2015 with a round-table discussion and walk-through of new works by three leading choreographers with dancers of Boston Ballet.  Complex teamwork in engineering and science can learn from the traditions of high performance teamwork across various professions and cultures.

GPD is pleased to partner with the University of Tokyo, IBM Japan, Mitsui and other industrial partners in the formation of a new "Global Teamwork Lab" (GTL).  GTL invites innovators to join in exploring and creating the world's best environment for performance by global teams. Deep and fundamental insights are gained through disciplined experiment-based research, education, and hands-on teamwork cases. Leveraging industry, MIT, and U Tokyo strengths we 'll solve complex multidisciplinary problems, positively impact society.
